Passion is meaningless without…

Writing is not really my passion.

From the very first time I met writing way back in my third grade, things have not been so good to me. I had a hard time with my grammar, constructing my sentences and all those stuffs. In short, I was not made for it.

But there are a lot of things that I am passionate about. One of them is my love for music.

Music has been and will always be a part of my life. I grew up with it. I remember when I was a kid, my Papa would turn on the radio almost every day listening to classic songs sung by Tom Jones, Frank Sinatra, Carpenters, Bee Gees and the likes. I believe they were my influences why I wanted to become a professional singer as my dream job. By that, I eagerly desire to enhance this talent I have, continuously discovering styles and practicing to reach those money notes. At present, I am serving in our church as a worship leader.

I can say that it didn’t start well, but it has progression and direction.

Second in line is my passion for photography.

The enthusiasm I have for photography started when I was a kid. I enjoy playing our film camera back then, clicking the shutter release button without any film inside. Then digital cameras came and my passion for it got ignited, practicing through the unlimited shots when memory cards became replacements to films.  With the surrounding friends I have with the same passion, I believe that I got an inch taller with this skill I have. At present, I am a back-up photographer to a professional photographer friend and a photo artist in the Crusader Yearbook 2013.

I can say that it didn’t start well, but it has progression and direction.

My only hope for this blog is to go the same way on how my passion for music and photography started. Progression and direction is what I am praying for.

I am Johnlery Padero, a 2nd year Development Communication student in Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan. I was born on February 20, 1993. I am a perceptive and corrective buddy. I believe that everything is meaningless. Our money is meaningless. Our knowledge is meaningless. Our job is meaningless. Our friends are meaningless.  Our family is meaningless. Our life is meaningless. All of these are meaningless without God being the center of it! And the last nine words from the previous sentence is the continuation of my first blog title.

Music + Jesus + Photography — three words that speak my life.

Indeed, it is meaningless without God. Some people say, better to fight for something than fight for nothing. I say: “BEST” to fight for God than just for something.

wonderfully written JL! the wise Teacher ended it this way _

    ” Now all has been heard;
here is the conclusion of the matter:
Fear God and keep his commandments,
for this is the duty of all mankind.
For God will bring every deed into judgment,
    including every hidden thing,
whether it is good or evil.” (Ecc12:13-14) ..keep on writing purposefully, it matters to Him!
